Maybe you didn't grow up with that "Mary, Mary Quite Contrary..." line, but I DID! and I hate being called MARY!!!! Moving along...I'm picking vegetables from my garden and decided to record it for next year when I won't remember what was what! (Do you have that problem, too?) This picture shows The Bush Scallop or Patti Pan squash in the upper portion of the picture, the Delicata Squash in the middle and one Rhubarb plant on the bottom. I let one Morning Glory plant bloom because I love them, but they can become a noxious weed if allowed to get out of control.
This is close up of the delicata squash on the vine. It is a winter squash and is cooked like an acorn squash. Tastes like yams!
There is another rhubarb plant on the left, with peas and lemon cucumbers followed by 3 bush acorn plants. The vines of the acorn plants really spread out.
This is a close up of an acorn almost ready to pick.
There are 5 immature acorns growing close together on the vine. I don't know if they all will ripen.
Rhubarb up close. I'm growing it so I can bake my cousin's bread recipe next year. (That's YOU Cuz!)I can't find rhubarb in the stores.

Yes, the fencing is adequate. It is called rabbit wire and keeps them out quite nicely. So far the mice/pack rats haven't eaten anything. Yes, send your twin's recipe! I'll taste them both! (Which twin is the better cook?) Also, my front license plate was EIEIO!
Ron and I had the delicata squash tonight and it was wonderful. It's a good thing you told me how to cook it.
It all looks great, and you make me so jealous. Not being able to grow any plants or flowers is one thing I really miss...
